Congratulations on your Regional win Mark, how does it feel?

It feels fantastic to win my first Trilby Tour event with added bonus and privilege that it was at my home club. I am looking forward to competing in the final at Hull and hoping to replicate the same performance.

Tell us about your experience on the day. How do you feel the nerves compared from the 1st to the 3-hole play off?

It was a new experience for me and yet I was more nervous doing the interview with producer Dave than teeing off on the first and playing the round! The nearest the pin shoot out was the bit I felt it the most, as I really wanted to get to the play off. Once I had achieved that, I relaxed more and thought I could win the day outright. The play off itself was brilliant, it was down to who could hold their nerve and cope with the pressure, thankfully it was me!

Have you played in any other regional Trilby Championships?

No, this is the first time I have entered the Trilby Tour.

How did you cope with the cameras on the day?

I coped fine really, I was able to block that out of my mind and focus on playing my golf.

Did you ever think, going into the day, that you would not only qualify for the International Grand Final but also be bringing home a Trilby Tour Regional Championship trophy?

I knew I was playing quite well prior to the day and with it being my home course, which I know very well, my goal was to qualify for the final first. I was quietly confident but I was greatly satisfied and proud to be the Champion of Leicestershire even though I thought I'd blown it on the last of the 3 hole play off, but that's another story!

Tell us about your background?

I'm a country bumpkin at heart, born and raised in Gloucestershire but have lived in Leicestershire for the last 46 years. I have always been involved in sport playing mainly football, golf and cricket, but sadly golf is the only thing I play now. Over the last two years I have had two knee cap replacements so I'm lucky I can still play which I am grateful for. I love live music and have been involved in a few bands playing bass and singing which gives me a real buzz - I can say I'm probably one of a only a few that has played in a nudist camp!

How did you find the clothing?

Stylist and comfortable to wear.

What has been your greatest achievement so far?

Even though I have been club champion four times at Forest Hill the Trilby Tour Trophy has to be the highlight of my golfing career so far.

Describe yourself in a sentence...

Competitive but fair and respective of others but gets a real buzz out of winning.

How will you go about defending your Trilby Tour Championship title next year?

In the immortal words of Arnie.... "I'll be back!".

What's your motto in life?

He who dares wins.

Any last words for William Hunt and the Trilby Tour Team?

A true gent and genuine guy who has devised a great competition for the amateur golfer from the clothing, bag and of course not forgetting the Trilby. To Aaron and the Trilby Tour team for their organisation of a normal golf game with a few twists to add more tensions and pressure on the day. To Mac for his flamboyant flair and witty anecdotes. To producer Dave or shall I say '"Clone Clooney to his friends" for his amazing interviewing techniques! All in all a fantastic competition and experience.
