Congratulations on your Regional win Seb!

Thanks very much! This was a big one for me. I am really pleased that I could back up my Grand Final win from 2013 with another regional event, hopefully, prove it wasn’t a fluke!!

What made you choose your venue?

I have always liked the Hanbury Manor course, having played it a fair few times, and with it being the most local golf course to me out of all of the regional events it was the obvious choice.

I qualified from Hanbury Manor for the final in 2013 so wanted to see if I could go one better this year.

Tell us about your experience on the day. How did you feel you played?

It was all about the back 9 for me! I started horribly… With 2 blobs early on, however I holed out from a long bunker shot on the 4th and made a good up and down on the 5th. I think this gave me some momentum. Then the putter just got really hot, and I started making everything. This brought me back into the mix and somehow it kept firing into the playoff. I think I was –5 gross from the 7th hole all the way through the 18th and 3 hole playoff too!

Have you played in many other Trilby Championships?

I played at Hanbury Manor a few years ago when I qualified for my first Trilby Tour final in 2013. I mixed it up last year and went to the Forest of Arden for the regional Championship, which didn’t go as well. So, I was pleased to be back on familiar ground this year.

How did you cope with the cameras on the day?

I am lucky having been able to play in a few of the past Trilby Tours. Particularly under the scrutiny of the cameras in the playoff in the 2013 final, I feel quite relaxed around them now.

They seem to bring out an extra gear in me, which is very pleasing! it can be quite a lot of pressure knowing how many people will be watching every shot.

Where is your trophy now?

It sits on the window in front my office desk, just to the right of my screen so I can always keep an eye on it!.

Did you ever think you would get this far?

I always wanted to try and follow up with another win. Although, after the start I made, I certainly didn’t think it would have been that week! Now I just want to get the big one again!

Tell us about your background?

I live in Hertfordshire, with my Fiancé Gina and our dog ’Tiger Woofs’ (It's a silent ‘woofs’ though). My father and I run a Renewable Energy company, mainly carrying out large scale Solar Panel installations for commercial buildings.

I play my golf at The Shire London, and I have recently joined the Centurion Club which is close to my home, they have phenomenal practice facilities.

How did you find the clothing?

I enjoy getting the new outfit each year I play in the Trilby Tour. I have all of my tops and trousers from each previous year still and they get plenty of wear.

What has been your greatest achievement so far?

Certainly with regards to golf, it has to be the Trilby Tour final win in 2013! Although winning this regional event is right up there as I am off a much lower handicap now so it makes me equally as proud.

Describe yourself in a sentence...

People always tell me I am very competitive, which I can’t disagree with, but I like to think I do it in the right sort of way. I guess I am a friendly but confident competitor, who just loves golf!

How will you go about defending your Trilby Tour Championship title next year?

Put my putter in a microwave just before I get to the course and hope it cooks through.

Note: Trilby Tour Team safety advice: Any metal or conductive object placed into the microwave will act as an antenna to some degree, resulting in an electric current. This causes the object to act as a heating element. We do not recommend you try this at home.

What's your motto in life?

Never Give Up!

Who is your golf hero?

This changes a lot, however I have always admired Zach Johnson. As a smaller guy myself, I love how he competes with the big hitters still, by relying on his phenomenal short game and making everything with the putter!

Any last words for William Hunt?

See you at Forest of Arden William, I want to try and make history by winning the big one back!
